How to Solve the Problem of Our Disappearing Honey Bees Scholarship Essay Contest

PlushBeds is the World Wide Web's favorite brand of 100% natural latex mattresses, eco-friendly memory foam mattresses (GreenGuard Gold certified for low VOC's), and an expanding range of environmentally-conscious bedding products.

The PlushBeds company is also actively involved in spreading awareness of environmental problems and solutions via our twice yearly (Spring and Fall semesters) green scholarship essay contests, which each contribute $1,000 towards a winning student's higher education goals in their pursuit of a green degree. For the year 2016, our designated topic and title for scholarship essay submissions is "How to Solve the Problem of Our Disappearing Honey Bees".

Questions That Should be Considered When Writing Your Essay

This essay should begin with sound foundational research on why honey bees are disappearing, and what effect that is having and could have on our environment and on human existence if the trend is not reversed. The bulk of the essay, however, should focus on what can be done to solve this problem both from a microcosmic perspective (an individual level) as well as a macrocosmic perspective (worldwide - including possible laws, regulations, or even other win-win scenarios that could effect change on a large scale). More consideration will be given to those students whose essays are compelling in the sense that not only conventional methods and proposed solutions to this problem are presented, but also some unique proposals and ideas that have not been discussed widely (hint: come up with some creative and thought-provoking ideas of your own that may or may not work in real life, but would be worth trying to save our bees).
