Do you ever have those nights where you just can’t fall asleep? There are many easy ways to sleep better at night, some of which we’ll talk about below. A unique way to sleep better tonight can be as simple as watching a funny movie or TV show before bed. Studies show that watching a funny movie before bed can actually help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. So the next time you lay down on your talalay mattress for the night, pop in a comedy to have sweet dreams.
While of course there are many ways to sleep better at night. Many of them include exercising. Working out right before going to bed tends to keep a person awake, rather than allowing him to get the sleep that he needs. Find a form of exercise that you enjoy, such as walking, running, or rollerblading. Find some great music to work out to and by the time bed time roles around, you’ll be ready for sleep.
Another way to have a restful night, rather than a night of tossing and turning, is to eat an early dinner. Enjoy a dinner of lasagna and spinach around 5:30 p.m., for example. By eating early, your body will have time to use the food that you have eaten. When you eat and then go straight to bed, on the other hand, your body does not have time to use the food that you have eaten. The food then turns to fat. By eating early, and then going to bed around 10:30 p.m., for example, your meal should be digested, and you should be able to sleep well.
Finally, watch something funny before you go to bed is a great way to fall asleep at night. If you watch the news right before you decide to call it a night, all of the horrible and scary things that you saw and heard on the news will find their way into your dreams. Try to think about the funny and entertaining shows you enjoy watching. They can be completely mindless. My “go-tos” are old sitcoms like “The King of Queens”, “The Nanny”, and “Seinfeld.”If you do not have cable or satellite service, or if you simply would prefer to watch a movie rather than a sitcom before going to bed, there are many great funny movies to choose from.
After watching a funny movie, you should be able to go to bed and sleep very well. What will you dream of? You will likely dream about the movie or sitcom you watched. When picking a movie to watch before bed, try to make it one that you’ve seen in the past. This way, you won’t be trying to stay awake to see how things will end up.
