10 Reasons to Buy a Botanical Bliss™ Latex Mattress:
Buying from the Manufacturer
Only mattresses bought directly from the manufacturer are truly "factory direct".Resellers buy them & sell them at a profit. Manufacturers are typically more knowledgeable about the materials used as you are dealing directly with the entity building the mattress.
In woven fabrics, the strands are tightly packed together and several criss-cross over one another, offering minimal elasticity or pressure relief (popular woven fabrics are denim, tweed and canvas). In knitted fabrics the strands of yarn are looped together as opposed to being straight, allowing them stretch in any direction offering much more "give" and elasticity over woven fabrics for much better pressure relief.
A mattress cover typically contains a top layer of fabric, and a fire resistant solution, either natural wool or a thinner, man-made substitute. More plush mattress covers are typically quilted together for optimal pressure relief, while thinner covers are simply glued (laminated) together. This process essentially adds a layer of glue between you and your natural latex, which increases surface resistance.
Mattresses with glued covers and glued layers are not chemical free. Some "chemical free" mattresses contain as many as 4 cups of glue within a single mattress.
Hand / Feel
Elasticity and a "soft hand" in a latex mattress cover is crucial because it allows the fabric a natural way to be stretchable without offering any surface resistance. This is important as reduction of pressure on the surface of the mattress reduces the constriction of blood flow to the neurological system, providing a deeper undisturbed sleep, thus optimizing regeneration and restoration that comes naturally from sleep itself.
Custom Firmness Options
Multiple firmness options are important when buying a mattress online you can't try first, as you have a much better chance of getting the right comfort feel vs. settling for a one size fits all solution. With more options, you're not limited to 1 particular model because of its firmness.
Layers Removable to adjust comfort
Hopefully you pick the right mattress the first time around. What happens if it's too soft or too firm? If all layers are glued together, you're only option is to package and return the whole mattress. With removable layers, you can easily adjust the mattress firmness by changing a layer of latex without having to return the whole mattress.
Free Comfort Exchange?
Buying a mattress online can offer a great savings opportunity, but also increases your risk of buying a mattress that doesn't meet your comfort expectations. With a free comfort exchange option (just $45 shipping), you significantly reduce your risk of buying sight unseen.
A good warranty will protect you against sagging or long term mattress defects. Some mattress ReSellers offer extended warranties which are not backed or supported by the mattress manufacturer. Remember a warranty is only as strong as the company issuing it. If buying from a ReSeller, be sure to ask for a copy of the Manufacturer's warranty as well prior to purchase (a manufacturer's warranty should contain the manufacturer's name and address for verification).
Shipping / Return Shipping
Shipping a mattress can be expensive, but is typically built into the price. In the event you need to return your mattress, some companies will pay all shipping costs and just charge a flat return fee; others claim to be free but may deduct a fee from your refund for usage or "damage" to the mattress after the fact to cover shipping costs. Be sure to know the amount of all possible fees upfront.
Customer Complaints filed with the BBB after purchase
Customers typically only file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau after an issue is not resolved to their satisfaction, typically involving a financial nature. As a general rule, for every customer who files a complaint, there are 50 dissatisfied customers who kept their silence. While it's common for even reputable companies to receive an occasional complaint every now and then, a significant number may indicate that a company's product and/or service is not the same as described.
Bamboo Rayon: Facts behind the Fiber
While bamboo the plant is wonderfully sustainable; bamboo the fabric isn't so easy to categorize. Chemically manufactured bamboo is a regenerated cellulose fiber also called BAMBOO RAYON because of the many similarities in the way it is chemically manufactured and similarities in its feel and hand.
Bamboo Rayon is chemically manufactured by "cooking" the bamboo leaves and woody shoots in strong chemical solvents such as sodium hydroxide (NaOH - also known as caustic soda or lye) and carbon disulfide in a process also known as hydrolysis alkalization combined with multi-phase bleaching. Both sodium hydroxide and carbon disulfide have been linked to serious health problems. Breathing low levels of carbon disulfide can cause tiredness, headache and nerve damage. Carbon disulfide has been shown to cause neural disorders in workers at rayon manufacturers. Low levels of exposure to sodium hydroxide can cause irritation of the skin and eyes. Sodium hydroxide is a strong alkaline base also known as caustic soda or lye. In its dry crystalline form, caustic soda is one of the major ingredients of Drano. This is basically the same process used to make rayon from wood or cotton waste byproducts.
This gives some feel for how chemically intensive the hydrolysis-alkalization and multiphase bleaching manufacturing processes are for bamboo rayon fabrics that some companies promote as being sustainable and eco-friendly.
Because of the potential health risks and damage to the environment surrounding the manufacturing facilities, PlushBeds refuses to distribute, endorse or promote any mattress covers made from Bamboo Rayon.
Advantages of Natural Wool in a Mattress
Due to its high cost, most mattress manufacturers do not use natural wool or very little natural wool in their mattress construction. When used in sufficient quantities, natural wool is better than any other textile used to make mattresses, providing several benefits which contribute to comfort and a great night's sleep, including:
Durability: Wool is extremely long lasting. It can bend thousands of times without losing form.
Temperature Regulation: Wool can evaporate moisture in either a warming or cooling manner. This incredible property maintains warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer. Wool garments are used from the hottest of deserts to the coldest of climates.
Hypoallergenic: Natural wool in a mattress is great for people with allergies. Natural lanolin on the outside of wool fibers makes wool durable and resistant to dust-mites, mildew and mold.
Flame Resistant: Wool can naturally pass flame tests used in the bedding industry without the addition of chemical flame retardants.
Comfort: Wool conforms to the shape of your body to provide you the support you need while you sleep. This means less tossing and turning and fewer aches and pains in the morning. Wool in bedding helps people sleep more soundly.
Biodegradable: Unlike traditional mattresses which are made from plastics, metals, and harsh textiles, Wool is a natural material that is biodegradable, making it much safer to dispose of when required.
Over 90% of latex mattresses sold today are made with blended latex as the comfort layer. Blended latex is made from a foam blend of natural and synthetic latex before the molding process begins. In most cases, blended latex foam is made up of 70% synthetic latex and only 30% natural latex.
When you buy all-natural latex, you invest in the hidden costs of transportation, agricultural management, and equipment used in processing. Natural latex is also a truly superior material for ameliorating night time pressure-point related pain and unsatisfying sleep. The long lasting characteristics of natural latex make it superior to blended latex as a mattress comfort layer.
Where's the Latex? - There's no law that states how much latex must be in a mattress for it to be referred to as a latex mattress. Many of the latex mattresses sold in retail mattress stores and on the internet contain a thin layer of latex and other "mystery foams", which are cheaper to produce, and can break down quicker. Be on the lookout for "soy-based foam", "smart foam", or "special pressure-relieving material." While these might contribute to a nice mattress, they are typically not latex.
Hybrid latex mattresses (latex on the top layer with a foam core) can still be great mattresses, and are optimal for people on a budget who want to experience sleeping on latex; however, when shopping, just make sure you know what you're comparing.
To Glue or not to Glue
Some companies glue their latex layers together. While they claim un-glued layers shift around, we have not found this not to be the case, as latex is very abrasive material & layers will naturally grab each other. A disadvantage of gluing layers together is that if for some reason your mattress is either a little too firm or a little too soft, your only option is to return the whole mattress, whereas if the layers weren't glued together, you might be able to conveniently exchange a layer of a different firmness with the manufacturer.
Not all Return Policies are the Same
Hopefully you'll choose the right latex mattress the first time around, and will sleep happily ever after. But what if you don't? What are your return options? What are your return costs? Will the company tell you up front? How many days do you have to try the mattress (60 days is acceptable, 90 would be better)?
Does the company have a comfort exchange policy or is your only solution to send the mattress back? Will the company come and pick up the mattress or are you responsible for shipping it back to the company? Many companies tell you they will "take the mattress back" within a certain time period, but fail to mention that it's up to you to get it there. It typically costs $300-$475 to ship a used mattress one-way across the country.
Are you responsible for just the return shipping or the shipping costs both ways? Is there a cap on what those costs are? What does "like new condition" really mean, and is it possible to be in "like new condition" after sleeping on it for 30 nights?
Read the fine print, as what seems too good to be true, usually is. There's an old adage, "What the bold print giveth, the fine print taketh away". While you should never expect a complete refund if you damaged a mattress you're returning, look for fine print that leaves the amount of your refund to the discretion of the company, as there have been many occasions where customers are charged hundreds of dollars because of ordinary use being claimed as mattress damage. Expect to pay something for returning a mattress. Anything that promises otherwise might be too good to be true.
2 Free Latex Pillows
Where most competitors offer no pillows, blended latex or pillows made from ground up latex particles, only PlushBeds offers 2 FREE 100% natural talalay latex pillows with every latex mattress purchase.
Purchasing a Latex Mattress Tax Free
Buying your latex mattress from an online retailer not located in your state provides the opportunity for customers to purchase their mattresses without paying sales tax normally collected at the time of purchase through local retail stores. Be sure to check with your tax advisor to see if disclosure of online purchases is required in your state.
A naturally resilient bedding material is long-lasting, returning to its original shape morning after morning and year after year without the use of chemicals or synthesized additives. When you roll over on a resilient mattress, the mattress responds to your movements instantaneously, preventing you from having a “stuck in your mattress” or “swimming in quicksand sensation”. Some innerspring mattresses are resilient, but few are naturally resilient.
Some mattress materialsbecome less supportive and retain body heat when exposed to a sleeping body for a prolonged period of time. These mattresses may initially feel comfortable when testing them for a few minutes on a showroom floor, however restrict airflow and become uncomfortably warm over the course of a night, leaving you with an overheated or clammy sensation. A mattress that sleeps cool encourages air flow, keeping you comfortably warm in cool temperatures and comfortably cool when it's hot.
Your mattress should offer you years of comfortable sleep. If you buy a mattress that you find uncomfortable, or if your comfort preferences change over time, your mattress firmness should be adjustable to comfortably accommodate your needs.
Best for Pressure Relief
When you lie on an overly firm or unresponsive mattress, pressure points develop where your weight compresses the body's tissues against the mattress surface. These points can be painful and harmful to circulation and nerve function. A properly buoyant mattress supports your body while minimizing pressure point formation.
Mattresses are one of the most common locations for molds, dust mites, and other allergens to lurk undetected. Some mattress materials, especially chemicals or synthesized fillers, can act as allergens themselves. Allergy sufferers can find significant relief by switching to a mattress that is manufactured without allergens and that discourages allergen encroachment from the surrounding environment.
Dust Mite Resistant
Dust mites are one of the most common and insidious allergens, with health implications ranging from minor sinus problems to major asthma concerns. A mattress that deters dust mites helps even those without allergies sleep in a safer, cleaner environment.
Bed Bug Resistant
Bed bugs are one of the most difficult-to-eradicate household pests. Treatments include intensive cleaning, chemical pesticides, and hauling off infected mattresses and furniture. Bedbugs are a costly nuisance and health hazard, and the best offense is a good defense of buying a bed bug resistant mattress.
Mildews and molds can be highly toxic, causing medical problems ranging from allergies to death, according to OSHA. Mildew and mold, along with the chemical reactions they cause when coming into contact with mattress chemicals, have been implicated in Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other illnesses. Mattresses with good air circulation, wicking action in the top layers, and all-natural construction will deter mold and mildew more effectively than inferior counterparts.
Best for Allergies
An allergy can be a minor inconvenience or a life-threatening condition. No one should be subject to sleeping on a surface that can actually make them more prone to allergic reactions. Beds that deter allergens and typically are free of harsh industrial chemicals can minimize nighttime allergies that interfere with sleep and overall health.
That strong, pungent “new mattress” odor is often caused by petrochemicals used in the construction of synthetic mattress layers. Off-gassing has been implicated in Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) deaths and may be a significant medical hazard for all ages. All mattresses may have some odor when first unwrapped; even all-natural latex has a distinctive smell when new, but it's a natural “rubber” scent that wears off quickly and contains no harmful chemical agents.
From the interior construction to the sleep surface, every mattress component has the potential to be filled with harsh industrial chemicals. Prolonged exposures to such chemical treatments are potentially harmful to the human body and brain, with effects ranging from minor allergies to significant nerve damage or even death. The best way to avoid the potential effects of these chemicals is to buy a mattress that is constructed without them.
Unlike traditional mattresses which are made from plastics, urethanes, metals, and harsh textiles which will build up in landfills for decades after being used, latex is a 100% natural material made from the sap of the Hevea Brasiliensis tree which is 100% biodegradable, making it much safer to dispose of when required.
1. PlushBeds Offers the Finest Organic Cotton Covers Online
Beyond the latex used in a mattress, the mattress cover's quality is the next important consideration. Yet, many comparisons overlook this key component.
Competing brands boast the use of organic cotton, but typically use cheaper woven fabrics, which are tight, course, and do not offer elasticity, hindering the pressure-relieving benefits of natural latex.
Our non-woven organic cotton covers can stretch in any direction without stressing the knitted fabric, offering much more give and elasticity over woven fabrics, thereby reducing the pressure on the surface of the mattress and improving the blood flow to the neurological system for providing a deeper, undisturbed sleep experience.
PlushBeds exclusive non-woven mattress covers are softer, more breathable, more elastic, offer better moisture control, and provide better pressure relief than the mass produced woven covers used by our competitors.
2. PlushBeds Latex Mattresses are 100% Glue Free
Everyone knows you can realize a big savings through buying a factory direct latex mattress on the internet, but what if it's too soft or too firm?
Many latex mattress companies glue their layers together, in fact, as many as 4 cups of glue are used in a single all natural latex mattress. If the firmness is not what you had hoped for, what are your options? Your only option is to re-package and ship the whole mattress back.
At PlushBeds, we specifically do NOT glue layers together for more comfort and purity. Our non-glue policy is made for all the right reasons, including your ability to exchange layers of latex for firmness adjustments without having to ship back the whole mattress.
At PlushBeds, we specifically do NOT glue layers together for more comfort and purity. Our non-glue policy is made for all the right reasons, including your ability to exchange the comfort layer for firmness adjustments. For you, no glue.
3. The Botanical Bliss Only Contains 100% Natural Latex

Plushbeds is proud to offer 100% Natural Sri Lankan Botanical Latex with no synthetic blends or petroleum based products.
With a more dense, supportive 100% natural dunlop core to prevent sagging and a top comfort layer of 100% natural talalay latex for maximum pressure relief, you receive a completely natural mattress that offers optimized pressure relief and uncompromising support, resulting in deeper, restorative sleep.

100% PURE JOMA NEW ZEALAND WOOL
The soft, non-allergenic Joma New Zealand Wool used in your latex mattress cover is ideal for those who suffer from allergies to feather, down, or synthetic bedding products.
Natural Temperature Regulation
When used in the right proportions within a mattress cover, Joma natural wool creates a micro climate which assists in regulating body temperature and humidity. Our wool breathes more naturally than synthetic counterparts, allowing your body to get to a comfortable sleeping temperature quicker and maintain it through the night.
Hypoallergenic, Antimicrobial, Dust Mite Resistant
Additionally, Joma wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water without feeling wet. As humidity levels rise, the wool fibers absorb and store the moisture, keeping the humidity at your skin surface relatively low, which ensures that damp, clammy feeling will never be experienced on our latex mattresses. Joma wool's dry and absorbent nature keeps mildew and dust mites away while keeping you dry and comfortable all night.
Naturally Fire Resistant
Most importantly, Joma wool's high keratin protein and moisture content make it naturally resistant to burning. Tests show natural wool to be among the safest bedding materials as wool can allow a latex mattress to naturally pass flammability tests without the use of chemical flame retardants.

LATEX MATRESS FIRMNESS:
The comfort of a latex mattress is measured by its firmness (soft to firm), and is measured by the latex ILD (Impression Load Deflection) rating, which is how easily the latex mattress will shape to your body and how much support it is capable of giving. A latex mattress with a very low ILD rating is wonderfully cushy on the body, but provides very little support. In contrast, a latex mattress with a high ILD rating provides great support, but is not very forgiving to your shoulders, hips and knees.
Our 8" Botanical Bliss comes in 4 different firmnesses, Select your firmness in the pricing section below
ILD Rating Chart
Which ILD is the best for a latex mattress?
After extensive sleep studies, PlushBeds found that customers surveyed reported the highest customer satisfaction ratings after sleeping on latex mattresses in the mid-firm ILD range. Customers who slept on mattresses with an ILD below 20 began to experience pain in their lower backs as the latex mattress didn't provide enough support. Customers who slept on mattresses with an ILD higher than 36 ILD experienced more tossing and turning, as well as slight pain in their shoulders and hips.
The Plushbeds Latex Mattress = Support + Pressure Relief
PlushBeds latex mattresses are designed with ILDs in the mid-firm range, to provide the ultimate in support and maximum pressure-relieving comfort. Whether you choose our medium-firm, medium or our slightly softer 8" model, you'll rest soundly as you reduce high pressure areas that shut off capillary blood flow causing you to toss and turn, so you awake feeling renewed and recharged.

From the day your mattress is delivered, you have 100 days to fall in love with it. Because sleeping on natural latex has a different feel than most traditional mattresses, we ask that you give your body 30 days to adjust. After the first 30 days, if you don't fall in love with your new latex mattress for any reason, just call us to arrange a return and box the mattress for return shipping. We'll send a private carrier for a curbside mattress pickup, who will ship the mattress back to us. We'll pay for all the round trip shipping costs and you will receive a full refund, minus a flat $99 return fee. Additionally, any pillows or bonuses you received with your mattress are yours to keep.
Our orthopedic foundations and adjustable beds are in a class by themselves, and require such an investment on the part of the company that we can't in good conscience pass them on to a third-party liquidator. The sale price on the orthopedic foundation and adjustable bed are non-refundable. The mattress you choose to put on your foundation is covered by the 100-night return policy, so the risk to you is still minimal with the purchase of our industry-leading adaptable foundations.
Order Cancellation Policy – You may cancel your order any time prior to your natural latex mattress being shipped (up to 7 days from placing your order), and you will receive a complete refund. Once shipped, however, you will be responsible for the shipping charges.
Please also note that if you choose the White Glove professional delivery service on the checkout page, we typically accomplish this by contracting a white glove delivery company in your local area to deliver and set up your new mattress. If you reject the delivery on the delivery date, you will be responsible for all white glove delivery costs which will be deducted from your refund. Of course, if any delivery issues arise, please contact us immediately at 1-888-449-5738 to assist you.
