Because we here at PlushBeds are committed to living greener lives, we like to look for blogs that promote a similar commitment to the planet. The five blogs listed below are some we’ve found to be particularly interesting as they relate to very specific causes that impact the green living community.
In some communities across the country, cars are not options, they are necessity. Whether you live in wide open spaces or in communities where mass transportation simply isn’t available, cars are not always optional investments. That doesn’t mean that you can’t invest in greener cars, however. What we love about Next Green Car is that it discusses various “green” vehicles that are available including hybrid cars, electric cars, and those that use bio fuels, among others as well as issues related to auto emissions and cleaner air. Most importantly, though, is that it provides its own NGC rating of some of the most common cars available – based on the full life cycle of the vehicle (not only regarding the emissions the vehicles produce or the fuels they consume).
This blog is one that’s dedicated to making the world a cleaner place to live. The good news is that it isn’t solely focused on the advanced aspects of reducing and eliminating waste. It starts with baby steps beginners can take to reduce, reuse, recycle, and compost whenever possible. This family made amazing progress, reducing down to one bin of garbage per year. We applaud their accomplishment and sincerely appreciate the instruction they share with their readers.
We like this site because it bills itself as a reference site on all things solar. It’s not a site that’s commercial in nature, but educational in nature – on all things solar power. From information on the value of your roof, were it filled with solar panels, to crowdfunding efforts to get certain solar projects off the ground, this site promotes the idea of solar power from start to finish and that’s an idea we can certainly get behind.
This blog exposes the grim reality that is plastic pollution in our society. It offers real facts about plastic and the pollution plastic bags, bottles, and other items leaves behind each year. The blog doesn’t present hype, explanations, or how-to styled advice. It simply presents the pictures the world really needs to see.
Green Tech Media is a great blog for people interested in the latest news and reviews related to green technology. Exciting discoveries, like the ones this blog reports about, mean that technology and greener living are not mutually exclusive. You can have your green lifestyle and enjoy the latest technology, too. This blog is proof!
