According to researchers, drinking Montmorency tart cherry juice twice daily for two weeks helped to increase the amount of sleep older adults suffering from insomnia were able to get by almost 90 minutes.
The findings were revealed during the annual meeting of the American Society of Nutrition in San Diego.

Study participants drank eight ounces in the morning and at night for a total of 16 ounces each day for a total of two weeks.
Sleep Foundation reports that while the effects of drinking cherry juice aren’t as high as some behavioral therapies for reducing insomnia, it is definitely more effective than relying on the human body to produce an adequate amount of melatonin among adults already suffering from insomnia.
